UL60730 certification is a safety standard that applies primarily to household, commercial and industrial controllers. The standard evaluates the electrical safety of building intelligent controllers to avoid fire and electric shock problems.
For smart thermostats, the scope of UL60730 certification includes IoT/smart home categories and component categories, such as smart plugs, smart sockets, smart extension cords and other products and human body sensor controllers, temperature controllers, motor controllers and other components.
In terms of structure, UL60730 certification has some special requirements. For example, it does not require the Air Gap Switch, but it requires a higher flame retardant rating for the plastic of the shell, which requires 5VA.
