UL 61010-2-201 is a standard for safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use, specifically Part 2-201, specifically for specific requirements for control equipment.

UL 61010-2-201 standard specifies in detail the safety requirements to be met during the design and manufacture of control equipment, including but not limited to electrical safety, mechanical safety, fire safety, environmental adaptability, etc. These requirements are intended to ensure that the equipment protects personnel from injury during normal use, maintenance and breakdown, and to prevent dangerous situations such as damage to the equipment or the initiation of a fire.

For touch screen such control equipment, UL 61010-2-201 standard may put forward the following requirements:

• electrical safety: including insulation resistance, withstand voltage, leakage current, grounding resistance and other requirements, to ensure that the equipment in electrical performance in accordance with safety standards.

• mechanical safety: The structural design of the equipment is required to be reasonable to avoid sharp edges, protruding parts and other factors that may cause harm to the human body. At the same time, the moving parts of the equipment need to take protective measures to prevent harm to the human body during operation.

• fire safety: It is required that the equipment use flame retardant materials in the design and manufacturing process, and set up corresponding fire prevention measures to prevent the equipment from causing a fire in the event of a failure.

• environmental adaptability: the equipment is required to adapt to different working environments, including changes in temperature, humidity, vibration and other factors, to ensure that the equipment can work normally in these environments and meet safety requirements.

in the application of UL 61010-2-201 test includes: electrical performance test, mechanical performance test, fire performance test and environmental adaptability test, etc. If the product passes the test and meets the requirements of UL 61010-2-201 standard, the manufacturer can obtain UL certification and mark, which proves that its product has met the internationally recognized electrical safety standards.
