For steel, UL 2809 certification focuses on the content of recycled materials in steel and the traceability and quality control of these recycled materials. Through this certification, it can prove that the steel manufacturer has established an effective management system for recycled materials and ensure that the recycled materials used meet the relevant standards and requirements.
In the process of UL 2809 certification of steel, manufacturers need to submit relevant application materials, including product information, technical instructions and related test reports. The UL certification body will review the application materials and conduct preliminary evaluations, tests, and follow-up investigations to ensure that the steel meets the requirements of the UL 2809.
If the steel has passed UL 2809 certification, the manufacturer will obtain a certification certificate and certification mark to prove that its products meet the standards for verification of recycled material content.
