Single cell battery-lithium ion battery test UL1642, GB/T 38031, UL 2054
lithium-ion batteries, as the most commonly used battery type in today's electronics and electric vehicles, have always been the focus of attention inside and outside the industry. In order to ensure the stability and reliability of single lithium-ion batteries under various conditions, a number of international test standards have been developed. UL 1642, GB 38031 and UL 2054 is aimed an important test standard for single lithium-ion batteries.
Single cell Li-ion battery test under 1. UL 1642 standard
UL 1642 is a standard for lithium battery core safety introduced by the American Safety Testing Laboratory Company (UL) in 1985. It is an internationally recognized authoritative standard for evaluating the safety and reliability of lithium batteries in various fault situations. The standard is mainly aimed at the safety test of the battery (cell) to ensure the stability and reliability of the single lithium-ion battery under various extreme conditions.
Under the UL 1642 standard, single lithium-ion batteries need to undergo a number of tests, including temperature cycling, high-altitude simulation, short circuit, abnormal charging, forced discharge, extrusion, heavy impact, vibration, thermal shock and combustion ejection. These tests are designed to comprehensively evaluate the performance and safety of the battery under various extreme conditions to ensure that the battery will not have safety hazards in actual use.
Test of Single Lithium Ion Battery 2. to GB 38031
GB 38031-2020 is the the People's Republic of China national standard, which specifies the safety requirements and test methods for traction battery cells, battery packs or systems for electric vehicles. Although the standard is mainly aimed at power batteries for electric vehicles, some of the test items are also applicable to single lithium-ion batteries.
Under the GB 38031 standard, single lithium-ion batteries need to undergo a number of tests including temperature cycling, over-discharge, over-charge, external short circuit, heating test, temperature shock, extrusion, vibration, mechanical shock, damp heat cycle, immersion, external fire, thermal diffusion-acupuncture, thermal diffusion-heating, etc. These tests are designed to evaluate the safety performance of the battery under various extreme conditions to ensure that the battery can meet the safety requirements of electric vehicles in actual use.
Single cell Li-ion battery test under 3. UL 2054 standard
UL 2054 is a safety test standard for rechargeable batteries and battery packs for portable electronics. Although the standard is mainly applicable to two or more batteries used in series or parallel combination of battery pack, but some of the test items are also applicable to single lithium ion battery.
Under UL 2054 standards, single lithium ion batteries are required to undergo a number of tests including abnormal charging test, forced discharge test, temperature cycle test, short circuit test, extrusion test, forced overcharge test, limited voltage test, heavy impact test, impact test, vibration test, static pressure test, label durability test, mold stress release test, drop impact test, combustion ejection test, heating test, etc. These tests are designed to comprehensively evaluate the safety performance of the battery under various extreme conditions to ensure that the battery can meet the safety requirements of portable electronic products in actual use.
