UL 110 Mobile Sustainability Certification
the UL 110 Standard is an environmental requirement specifically drafted for the sustainability of mobile phones and is the first benchmark specifically designed to assess the minimum impact of mobile phones on the environment.
UL 110 sets environmental standards for mobile devices by measuring a range of relevant factors, including materials, end-of-life management and life extension, impact on human health and the environment, packaging, manufacturing and operating processes, and product innovation.
On the basis of setting the basic threshold for the environmental design and performance of products, UL evaluates the innovation and excellent performance of products, and uses the standard grading method to encourage the environmental leader. The products with outstanding performance will obtain the highest level of "platinum grade certification".
UL Ecologo Environmental Mark
the UL Ecologo Environmental Mark is based on life cycle, industry standard and multi-attribute certification.
The UL110-Sustainability Standard for Mobile Phones requires a rating of mobile phone material selection, energy consumption, environment and health, EOL management and extension, packaging manufacturing and operation. According to the score UL110 certification is divided into gold grade, silver grade and copper grade. In addition, plans and CSR reports on corporate sustainable development actions are written for the environment, human rights, society and product responsibility, which can make the credibility and social responsibility of enterprises recognized by the society.
The document requirements of UL110 are divided into two categories: necessary documents and optional documents. Providing necessary documents is the requirement to obtain copper grade certification. Optional documents are bonus items but not mandatory. The score of optional documents can refer to the following table for details. When the score of optional documents reaches 50%-70% of the total, silver grade certification can be obtained. When the score of optional documents reaches more than 70% of the total, gold certification can be obtained.
