UL certification -ul5085-3 certification low Voltage Transformers-Part 3:

class 2 and 3 transformer range:

2.1 for low-voltage transformers-Part 1: General requirements ul5085-1 or CSA C22.2NO.66.1, Low-voltage transformers-Part 1: General requirements, the requirements in Part 3 cover Class 2 transformers that are applicable in conjunction with Class 2 circuits in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA70 or Canadian Electrical Code Part I CSA C22.1. They are intended for connection to a power source that is basically positive.

2.2 UL certified- ul5085-3 certification low-voltage transformers-Part 3: Requirements for Class 2 and Class 3 transformers do not include:.

a) Power supply (the transformer of the distribution rectifier is used as the power supply);

b) Toy Transformers;

c) Transformers connected with cords and plugs other than Category 3;

d) Direct plug-in transformer;

e) Transformers for equipment of the audio, radio or television type;

f) Other electrical equipment or other special types of transformers covered by the electrical requirements.

The 2.5ul1310 standard requirements do not include products intended to charge the battery used to start the engine. Such products are protected by the UL1236 engine starter battery charger standard.

2.6 these requirements cover UL1310 standard definition, Class 2 products intended to work with toys. Such products shall also comply with Toy Transformer Standard UL697.

2.7 these requirements do not include products with outputs other than the second category, nor do they include battery chargers intended to be suitable for use in wheelchairs or similar types of mobility assistance equipment. This type of product is suitable for the second class of power unit standards other than UL1012.

2.8 Products without rectifiers may belong to low-voltage transformer standards-Part 1: General requirements, ul5085-1 and low-voltage transformer standards-Part 3: Class 2 and 3 transformers, ul5085-3.

2.9 these requirements do not include products powered by DC power only. Such products are applicable to UL458 "Standard for Power Converters/Inverters and Power Converter/Inverter Systems for Land Vehicles and Ships" or other requirements applicable to the intended application.

2.10 these requirements do not include products designed to provide low-voltage landscape lighting. The low voltage landscape lighting system UL1838 covers such products.
