The American Consumer Product Safety Association (CPSC) announced that all manufacturers, importers and distributors of balance cars (including torsion cars) must meet new safety standards for balance cars produced, imported and sold in the United States, including UL2272 balance car circuit system certification standards and UL2271 balance car lithium battery new standards. In addition, all balance car batteries must meet the UN38.3 certification requirements.
