UL certification is a recognized safety certification mark in the United States and North America. Products with UL logo are equivalent to obtaining a safety and quality credit card, and their credibility has been accepted by consumers. Therefore, the UL mark has become a pass for electronic and electrical products to enter the United States and the North American market. UL has five laboratories in the United States and is headquartered in Northbrook, north of Chicago.

If the lighting products are sold to the US market, UL certification is required. The following are some summaries of Ancojet's testing and certification to share with you:

Lamp product classification

a, according to the way of use.

Movable lamps: test standard UL153/CSA C22.2 No.12, easy to move, with power cord and plug, which can be plugged into a 120V, 15-or 20-ampere power socket. Example: table lamp, standing lamp, wall lamp, chandelier, clip lamp.

Fixed lamps: test standard UL1598/CSA C22.2 No.250.0-00, no plug, power cord but need to be wired and installed separately, the lamp body is not easy to move after installation. Example: ceiling lamp, wall lamp, chandelier.

B, according to the type of light source to distinguish

Part Requirements:

1. Plug: NEMA 1-15P with polarity or 5-15P type standard plug.

2. Socket: No more than two single socket bottom or one double socket.

3. Power cord: at least US gauge 18 line, at least SPT-2, at least 1.5 meters long.

4. Lamp holder: use UL qualified products to prevent it from loosening.

5. Switch and fine-tuning controller: UL certified products are required, and the electrical rating must match the lamp products.

UL certification Application Process

1. The applicant submits the application, company business license and product information:

(a) Applicant: the applicant for UL certification. bear the associated costs and are entitled to all information related to the certification.

(B) Listed Company: Will be listed on UL's website system.

(c) Production plants: manufacturers and producers of products.


Product Information: Product information should be provided in English.

(a) Name of the product: the full name of the product provided.

(B) Product model: list all the product models, varieties or classification numbers that need to be tested in detail.

(c) Structure diagram: For most products, the structure diagram or explosion diagram of the product, ingredient list, etc. shall be provided.

(d) Photos of the product, instructions for use, safety, etc. or installation instructions.


2.
