The GREENGUARD certification standard is an internationally recognized voluntary standard that establishes requirements for indoor low-release products, such as building materials, upholstery, furniture, cleaning products and electronic equipment. Release criteria vary by product formulation and use. These standards are maintained by UL Environmental Services and are incorporated into health release standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California, and other prominent public health agencies.
Criteria Identification of Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC), Formaldehyde, Total Aldehydes based on currently published high limit values (TLV) or chronic exposure reference levels (CREL) for all individual chemicals. In addition, GREENGUARD screen all products for carcinogens and reproductive toxins listed under major government and regulatory programs.
GREENGUARD certification is divided into two levels
at present, more than 900 manufacturers voluntarily participate in GREENGUARD certification, and the total number of certified products exceeds 50000.
GREENGUARD certification level
the GREENGUARD Certification Class is North America's first voluntary indoor air quality certification, developed specifically for commercial building products. This certification requires products to meet stringent chemical release requirements, including the 360 of more than one VOC, as well as limits on the total chemical release. Commercial furniture products that meet the limits also meet the requirements of BIFMAX7.1 and BIFMAe3 credit 7.6.1 standards.
· Through the detection of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde in building materials, surface treatment materials, interior furnishings, furniture, cleaning products and electronic equipment, to determine whether these products cause indoor air pollution. The emission of chemical substances and particulate matter of the product shall be measured under the test conditions simulating the actual use of the product by using the "Standard Method for the Determination and Evaluation of Chemical Emissions in Dynamic Environmental Simulation Cabin. Products that receive this certification do not pollute indoor air and are featured in the ULSPOT Green Product Database.

GREENGUARD Gold Certification
GREENGUARD gold levels are based on key indicators for public health institutions. This certification sets the world's most stringent release limits for more than 360 chemicals.
Certified building material products comply with CDPH1.2ICalifornia01350, commercial furniture products comply with BIFMAX7.1 and BIFMAX7.1, 7.6.3.
Through the emission of various chemicals such as organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, phthalates and inhalable particles in building materials, furniture products and decoration materials, to determine whether these materials and products meet the safety factors of sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and to help the safe use of products in environments such as schools and medical institutions. As an extension of GREENGUARD certification services, GREENGUARD Gold certification provides more stringent certification standards.
