1. China

notice of the National Radio Office on Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Type Approval of Wireless LAN Equipment Adopting IEEE 802.11be Technical Standard

in order to standardize and promote the high-quality development of the wireless local area network industry and ensure that wireless local area network equipment adopting IEEE 802.11be technical standards conform to the relevant regulations of China's radio management, according to the the People's Republic of China Radio Management Regulations, Radio Transmission Equipment Management Regulations and the Notice of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Strengthening and Standardizing Radio Management in 2400MHz, 5100MHz and 5800MHz frequency bands (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has no [2021] No. 129, hereinafter referred to as Document No. 129) and other regulations and relevant regulations on radio management. Recently, the National Radio Office issued the ''Notice on New Technical Requirements and Detection Methods for Wireless LAN Equipment Adopting IEEE 802.11be Technical Standards'' (hereinafter referred to as the ''Notice'').

This standard is what we often call the Wi-Fi 7 standard. The "Notice" will come into effect on the date of issuance, that is, WiFi7 products can begin to accept model approval applications.

2. India

TEC Clear Bluetooth Interface Terms

on October 30, 2023, the Telecommunications Engineering Centre (TEC) of India issued a clarification document on the technical terms of Bluetooth on October 30, 2023.

Malaysia 3, Malaysia

SIRIM Announcement on Renewal of Expired 6 Months Certificate

on December 13, 2023, the Malaysian Institute of Standards and Industry (SIRIM) issued an announcement (No.: SQASI/CMCS/1/23/0009), suggesting that CoCs that expire for more than six months will be automatically frozen or suspended for renewal. If the certificate holder does not take any action within fourteen working days from the date of suspension of the CoC, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will cancel the CoC without further notice to the certificate holder.

4. Indonesian Indonesia

SDPPI Unfolds the Opinion Emblem of Antenna Technical Regulations

indonesia SDPPI will conduct antenna technical regulations for telecommunications equipment from October 19, 2023 to October 30, 2023.

The antenna types of the tube are as follows:

■ Base station antenna in line with international mobile communication technical standards;

■ Microwave communication antenna;

■ Wireless LAN (RLAN) antenna for backhaul network;

■ Broadband wireless access antenna.

5. Saudi Arabia

SASO issues EMC technical regulations

the Saudi Agency for Standards, Metrology and Quality (SASO) published the EMC Technical Regulation on November 17, 2023. The technical regulation covers a range of product/product family standards, including standards such as SASO CISPR 32. The regulations will enter into force on May 15, 2024.

6. Vietnamese Vietnam

from January 1, 2024, all ICT and ITE products (such as desktop computers, laptops, tablets, DVB-T2 TVs/set-top boxes, DECT phones, etc.) require Vietnam MIC authorized electrical safety standard-QCVN132:2022.

The MIC has yet to finalize the requirements because it conflicts with another regulator. So at present they can accept ISO 17025 CB test report.

7. Japan

japan to restrict PFHxS and its salts in certain products

on December 1, 2023, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Ministry of the United Environment and the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Industry (METI) of Japan issued Cabinet Order No. 343. Perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) and its salts are controlled as a Class I designated chemical under the Enforcement Order on the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and the Control of Their Manufacture, etc., under the Chemical Substances Control Act (CSCL). The Cabinet Order will come into force on February 1, 2024.

8, United Kingdom

the UK updates its POPs regulations and adds PFHxS controls

on November 15, 2023, the United Kingdom issued a new regulation, UK S. I. 2023 No. 1217, amending the United Kingdom's Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) regulations and adding control requirements for perfluorohexylsulfonic acid (PFHxS), its salts and related substances. The new regulations will enter into force on November 16, 2023.

9 The European Union

EU launches public consultation on RoHS exemption for cadmium

on December 18, 2023, the EU Environment Directorate-General (European Commission DG Environment) launched public feedback on the exemption of cadmium in Annex III of the EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU), and proposed to amend the exemption of cadmium in Item 39(a) and add an exemption clause in Item 39 (B).

10. Australian Australia

australian Home Appliances Change Edition

the latest Australian standard for home appliances, AS/NZS 60335.1:2020 Amendment No. 1 applies to Australian national standards for AZ. Amendments to the 5.201 and 7.1 provisions; and the New Zealand national version of Article 7.1. AZ. The 5.201 amendments will take effect on November 26, 2023.

11, United States

EPA Releases Energy Star Downlight V1.0 Specification

the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially released the ENERGY STAR downlight V1.0 specification (ENERGY STAR Downlights V1.0) on November 16, 2023 to replace the embedded downlight and its modification kit in the lamp V2.2 specification that will be closed.
