In-depth analysis of the differences between the old and new GB/T 36276 standards: leading the new future of power energy storage

With the acceleration of global energy transformation, the importance of power energy storage technology has become increasingly prominent. As a core component in the field of power energy storage, the performance and safety of lithium-ion batteries are directly related to the stable operation of the entire energy storage system. Recently, the national standard GB/T 36276-2023 "Lithium-ion Battery for Power Energy Storage" officially replaced the old standard GB/T 36276-2018, marking a major update to the technical specifications of China's power energy storage industry.

The new standard replaces GB/T36276-2018 "Lithium-ion batteries for electric energy storage". Compared with GB/T36276-2018, in addition to structural adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

-The scope of application of the document has been changed (see Chapter 1);
-Deleted duplication of terms and definitions with DL/T 2528 (see 3.1 for 2018 edition);
-Changed the relevant symbols and added the symbol of the nominal voltage (see the 3.2 of the 3.2 and 2018 editions);
-Change "specifications" to "coding" (see chapter 4, chapter 4 of the 2018 edition);
-Change the "general requirements", "basic performance", "cycle performance" and "safety performance" to "normal working environment", "appearance, size and quality", "electrical performance", "environmental adaptability", "durability performance" and "safety performance", and change the technical requirements (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 2018 edition);
-Add "power characteristics" (see 5.3.2), "high temperature adaptability" (see 5.4.1), "low temperature adaptability" (see 5.4.2), "overload performance" (see 5.6.1.3), "vibration performance" (see 5.6.2.3), "pressure resistance of liquid cooling pipeline" (see 5.6.2.4), technical requirements for "high altitude insulation performance" (see 5.6.3.3), "high altitude withstand voltage performance" (see 5.6.3.4) and "alarm and protection function" (see 5.6.5);
-The technical requirements for power batteries are deleted (see 5.2.1.2, 5.2.1.4, 5.2.2.2, 5.3.1.2, 5.3.1.4 and 5.3.2.2 of the 2018 edition);
-Change "initial charge and discharge energy" to "initial charge and discharge performance", and change the technical requirements (see 5.3.1, 5.2.1.1, 5.3.1.1, 5.4.1 of the 2018 edition);
-Change "low air pressure" to "initial charge and discharge performance at high altitude", and change the technical requirements (see 5.4.3, 5.2.3.6 of the 2018 version);
-The technical requirements for "heating" are deleted (see 5.2.3.7 of the 2018 edition);
-The technical requirements for "rate charge and discharge performance" are changed (see 5.3.3, 5.2.1.2 and 5.3.1.2 of 2018 edition);
-The technical requirements for "energy retention and energy recovery capability" are changed (see 5.3.4, 5.2.1.6 and 5.3.1.5 of the 2018 edition), and the technical requirements for "room temperature energy retention and energy recovery capability" are deleted (5.2.1.6.1 and 5.3.1.5.1 of the 2018 edition);
-The technical requirements for "storage performance" are changed (see 5.5.1, 5.2.1.7 and 5.3.1.6 of 2018 edition);
-The technical requirements for "cycle performance" are changed (see 5.5.2, 5.2.2 and 5.3.2 of 2018 edition);
-Change "salt spray and high temperature and high humidity" to "salt spray performance" and "alternating damp heat performance", and change the technical requirements (see 5.6.3.1 and 5.6.3.2, and 5.3.3.6 of the 2018 edition);
-The main technical index requirements of the test equipment are changed (see 6.1.2, A.1.2 of 2018 edition);
-The requirement of "test sample preparation" is changed (see 6.2.1,2018 edition A.1.3.4);
-The requirement of "test line connection" is added (see 6.2.2);
-Change the "voltage and temperature limit setting" to "test parameter setting", and change the requirements (see 6.2.3,2018 version of A.1.3.3);
-Change "battery cell test", "battery module test" and "battery cluster test" to "appearance, size and quality inspection", "electrical performance test", "environmental adaptability test", "durability performance test" and "safety performance test";
-Test method changed (see 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, 6.7, A.2, A.3, A.4 of 2018 edition);
-Added "power characteristic test" (see 6.4.2), "high temperature adaptability test" (see 6.5.1), "low temperature adaptability test" (see 6.5.2), "overload performance test" (see 6.7.1.3), "vibration performance test" (see 6.7.2.3), "liquid cooling pipeline pressure resistance test" (see 6.7,2.4), "high altitude insulation performance test" (see 6.7.3.3), "high altitude withstand voltage test" (see 6.7.3.4) and "alarm and protection function test" (see 6.7.5):
-"Initial charge and discharge energy test" is changed to "Initial charge and discharge performance test", and the test method is changed (see 6.4.1, see A.2.4 of Version 2018);
-Change the "low pressure test" to "high altitude initial charge and discharge performance test", and change the test method (see 6.5.3, see A.2.17 of the 2018 edition);
-The test method of "heating test" is deleted (see A.2.18 of Version 2018);
-The "salt spray and high temperature and high humidity test" is changed to "salt spray performance test" and "alternating damp heat performance test", and the test method is changed (see 6.7.3.1 and 6.7.3.2, and A.3.18 of the 2018 edition);
-The rules of "delivery inspection" and "type inspection" are changed (see 6.2 of 7.2, 7.3 and 2018 edition, 6.3);
-The rule "sample inspection" has been added (see 7.4);
-Change the requirements for "Marking, packaging, transportation and storage" (see Chapter 8, Chapter 7 of the 2018 edition);

-Added "Appendix A (Normative) Battery Operating Parameters" (see Appendix A).
